For Service Providers

If you are in the business of providing business services, marketing  services , training, or public relations it is important for your clients and prospects to be able to look to a trusted third party who can provide analysis and expert opinion which properly positions your firm. At Stamford Research, that's what we do.

Our Research Process

Our research on every service provider begins with a Company Overview Report. The Company Overview is an annual report covering the major products, services, strategies, and markets served for a particular provider company. On the surface, many companies appear to offer similar products and services. They appear to be competitive. In reality, many fine product and service providers are best suited to meet the needs of a particular market niche. For example, some providers may offer solutions best fitted to large corporations while another, with similar offerings, may in fact be a much better fit for small to mid-size businesses. Our research and analysis drills down into the non-obvious factors which differentiate providers, giving the buyer a snapshot from which to pick the best provider to meet its needs. This research and analysis saves time and money for both the provider companies, which can stop spending time and money with non-qualified prospects, while buyers stop wasting time and money researching and evaluating non-qualified providers.

Once the Company Overview has been completed, a series of additional Analytical Briefs about the company may be prepared. These analytical briefs each cover a particular Key Issue.

  • The Product Analysis is a snapshot analytical review of a particular product or family of related products. The Product Analysis describes the products, discusses target problems or opportunities addressed as well as strengths and challenges. Importantly, the Product Analysis identifies and differentiates target markets and sub-markets for products and services which may not be intuitively obvious to the buyer.
  • The Service Analysis is a snapshot analytical review of a particular service or family of related services. The Service Analysis describes the services, discusses target problems or opportunities to be addressed as well as strengths and challenges. The Service Analysis makes a distinction between productized, fixed priced services and ad-hoc (time-based) consulting services. Particular service objectives, deliverables, outcomes and service strategies are analyzed.
  • The Product and Service Overview Analysis is a goal review of a company’s product and service offerings, their competitive positioning, effectiveness and uniqueness. Product and service families, but not individual products or services are discussed, although an individual lead product or service may be described and analyzed.
  • The Channel Management Analysis is a special case of the Service Analysis or Product Analysis which specifically addresses a company’s products and services related to the improvement of its clients strategies and practices for addressing markets through distributors, OEMs and other resellers.
  • The Strategy Analysis examines a provider company’s product, service, and business strategies, comparing these with the market in general and its direct competitors. The objective is to identify particular client niches which can best be served by this provider versus the competitors.
  • Executive Strategies is an executive level overview summarizing the key strengths and challenges of a company, its products and services vis-à-vis its competition. It is specifically designed for rapid consumption by a busy executive rather than discussing each individual detail.
  • The Industry Overview  examines key players in a given industry or market segment identifying which target client challenges can be best met by each individual provider.
  • The Case Study is a detailed analysis of a particular client interaction with a provider company. The case study examines the initial challenge faced by the client and the outcomes after the application of the provider's products and/or services.
